DR. S M MEHBOOBUL HASSAN BUKHARI
Dr. S. M. Mehboobul Hassan Bukhari is the Religious Director at the Islamic Center of Cape Cod. In addition to delivering Friday talks, he teaches courses on Classical Islam and Quranic Sciences. He also provides consultation on Islamic education, religious training, and family life.
Previously, he was associated with the Munich Center for Science and Technology as an STS researcher at the Technical University of Munich (ranked #1 in Germany and among the top 25 universities in the world), in Munich, Germany. He also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Karachi, Pakistan.
He earned a distinction in his graduation in Islamic Studies and later won a gold medal in his M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Karachi. He has two distinctive international publications: Islamization of Ilm: Ideals and Realities in a Globalized World (Adelaide University Press, Adelaide, Australia), and Trends of Liberalism and Islam in Pakistan (Routledge, London).
Besides this, he has working knowledge of German and French, and a good command of Arabic.
He has also been involved in teaching at Habib University, I.B.A and other well reputed universities in Pakistan. In addition, he weekly appears as an expert on Islam in the modern world on many national TV channels such as 92 News, Express News etc.
